Beat The Heat at Canton's Splash Playground

With the National Weather Service issuing an excessive heat warning this week and temperatures reaching the mid-90s, Plymouth and Canton residents are looking for ways to stay cool.

Many Canton residents took to the Splash Playground at Heritage Park on Tuesday afternoon.

Heather Whitbeck brought her 14-month-old son, Derek, to the playground for the first time.

Whitbeck, a Canton resident, said Derek is just starting to get used to water and thought it would be something fun for him to do in the hot weather.

"I'm off work today and we don't have a pool," she said. "So this is really nice."

The Splash Playground is free and open everyday through Labor Day from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Children 12 and under must be supervised by an adult at all times. Water shoes are recommended.
