Dearborn Glass Artist a First-Timer at Plymouth Art in the Park

Grace Harris started creating glass images 20 years ago after taking a night class.

Grace Harris of Dearborn is one of 75 new first-time vendors during this year's Plymouth Art in the Park.

Harris, a glass-cutter, creates colorful images from snowflakes to the popular Old English D.

I like to change locations," Harris said. "I was at Wyandotte last year. I want to kind of have my stuff available to different people."

Harris said she got started cutting glass 20 years ago when she took a night class in Dearborn.

"It kind of exploded from there," she said. "I tried quilting, and I couldn't do it. Then I tried this, and I just got hooked."

Harris will be at Art in the Park through Sunday when the festival ends at 5 p.m. Locate her booth, number 741, on Penniman Avenue, between Harvey and Main Streets.
