Everything You Need to Know About Art in the Park

Art in the Park, now in its 34th year, returns to downtown Plymouth this weekend. 

With more than 370 artists, 400 booths and thousands of pieces of original artwork, the three-day event promises to draw tens of thousands of visitors to the area.

Here's everything you need to know before attending.

Hours:

Friday: 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Sunday: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Road Closures

The following roads in Downtown Plymouth will be closed Thursday at 7 p.m. through Sunday at approximately 9 p.m.
  • Main Street – From Church Street to Wing. Southbound traffic will be allowed from Church Street south to Fralick for access to businesses including the Funeral Home and Post Office
  • Penniman Avenue – From Harvey Street to Union
  • Ann Arbor Trail – From Harvey Street to Union
  • Forest Avenue – From Ann Arbor Trail to Wing Street

Parking

Visitors are encouraged to park at the ACH Plant located at 14425 Sheldon Road, just off of M-14 in Plymouth and take the free round trip shuttle service. 

The shuttles will be operating continuously between the ACH plant and Plymouth City Hall. The shuttles feature air conditioning, restrooms, stroller storage and storage for all of your purchases on the way back.

Shuttle hours are as follows:

Friday: 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Saturday: 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Sunday: 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The Living Mural

Kristen Dillenbeck-Anderson of New York City, formerly of Canton will once again create a living art mural during all three days of Art in the Park at Main and Ann Arbor Trail. This will be her 4th year at Art In The Park incorporating canvas, paint & live human figures.

Chalk Mural

Erin Dillenbeck and D & M Art Studio will be back creating a chalk art mural in a  street art demonstration. The mural will be sketched at Main and Penniman and will be in progress all weekend.  

MorningStar Farms® - Feel Good Grilling Tour

MorningStar Farms® is traveling the country serving up delicious and good-for-you veggie burgers during the “Feel Good Grilling” tour.  The tour will feature three grilling favorites: the Spicy Black Bean Burger, Grillers Prime & the new Mediterranean Chickpea Veggie Burger. Chef John Korycki, of Kalamazoo’s Zazios Restaurant will demonstrate gourmet creations featuring MorningStar Farms burgers. Free samples will be available.

Duck Tape® Rolls Across America Tour

The “Duck Tape® Rolls Across America Tour is a fun, interactive experience, this display is housed in a 31-foot, bright green Duck Bus that allows Duck Tape enthusiasts to see the latest & greatest from this product. Fairgoers will be invited to make a craft item using Duck Tape, see one-of-a-kind Duck Tape outfits, including one from Project Runway.

Live G-Scale Train Display

The Michigan G Gauge Operations Club will be educating the public about indoor & outdoor operation of 45 millimeter (1.76 inch) gauge model railroads. Their principal goal is to provide educational information through the set-up & operation of their portable modular railway layout at public gatherings.  

George Tait's Living Statue

George Tait will be performing everyday from 12-4 p.m. As a living statue, Tait comes to life every 15 minutes entertaining the crowd. Tait reads minds, challenges your perception and stop time. 

One Love Reggae Band

Authentic reggae at it’s best, with a unique signature sound all their own. One Love is committed to playing authentic roots reggae music. Performances will be held at the corner of Ann Arbor Trail and Forest Avenue.
