Feeling Hungry? MorningStar Farms Serves Veggie Burgers at Art in the Park

The MorningStar Farms "Feel Good Grilling" Tour will offer veggie burgers to those looking for a healthy bite to eat at Art in the Park this weekend.

As MorningStar Farms travels cross-country on its first “Feel Good Grilling” Tour, it will stop at Art in the Park this weekend, serving healthy and delicious veggie burgers to hungry festival-goers.

Traveling around the country this summer, the tour will visit local festivals in San Francisco, Boulder, Philadelphia, Detroit, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C. and Boston.

MorningStar Farms Senior Brand Manager Erin Storm said, “The Plymouth Art in the Park Festival is a great summer event and an ideal place for MorningStar Farms to showcase its good-for-you take on summer grilling classics, while consumers peruse the art and festivities.”

The MorningStar Farms booth will be located in Kellogg Park at the intersection of Main and Ann Arbor Trail.  There, three grilling favorites will be featured to show how tasty veggie burgers are and that grilling does not always have to ‘weigh you down,’ said Storm.

“Consumers will have the opportunity to sample for free the MorningStar Farms Spicy Black Bean Veggie Burger, Mediterranean Chickpea Veggie Burger, and Grillers Prime Veggie Burger,” Storm said.

The MorningStar Farms display will consists of the large “Feel Good Grilling” tour truck, as well as a green MorningStar Farms booth where chefs and caterers will be cooking up fresh samples of veggie burgers.

“The display is really hard to miss. There are tables setup on the side, and a corn-hole game going on out front for anyone who wants to take a break from walking around the festival. Additionally, we’ll have a special grill set up where Chef John Korycki will demo his custom burger creation,” said Storm.

Korycki is the executive chef and general manager of Kalamazoo’s Zazios Italian Restaurant and Bar and has created many recipes with MorningStar Farms products. As a former cyclist, Korycki is an advocate of eating healthy and finding creative ways to make good-for-you food that is full of flavor.

MorningStar Farms is giving consumers, who are looking to eat smarter and reduce the amount of red meat in their diets, a healthy choice to grill burgers veggie-style.  Summer time means grilling, and MorningStar Farms veggie burgers are a quick, tasty, and healthy option for your backyard barbecue,” Korycki said.

Onsite Cooking Demonstrations Taking Place

Korycki will be presenting a cooking demonstration on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the MorningStar Farms tent, offering free samples of his original creation, the Hamburger Mediterraneo di Ceci con Caprino.

“I will be featuring the Mediterranean Chickpea Burger, topped with a creamy sun-dried tomato and feta cheese spread, with ripe roma tomatoes, basil, arugula, and olive oil marinated red onions on a garlic-toasted bun,” said Korycki.

Storm said, “This recipe highlights the bold, Greek flavors of the Mediterranean Chickpea Veggie burger, which is made of whole chickpeas, brown rice, diced roma tomatoes, onions, garlic, spinach, soy, and other plant proteins.”

In addition to sampling, guests will get the chance participate in backyard barbecue games and learn delicious ways to incorporate veggie burgers into their summer grilling plans with the MorningStar Farms team.

“We’re thrilled to be spending this summer weekend with local Michigan artists and festivalgoers,” Storm said.
