Young Pit Bull Mix Looking for Energetic Family

8-month-old Scout lives at the Humane Society of Huron Valley and is looking for a new family.

Scout is an 8-month-old, white pit bull mix with black freckles who is cute as a button. He was relinquished by his owners who could not care for him properly.

He is a very smart and super sweet puppy. He’s young and energetic, so he's looking for an active family that's ready to do lots of running and playing. He should also go to a home with older children due to his puppy energy. Scout loves squeaky toys and loves to play in the snow. Please stop by the Humane Society of Huron Valley (HSHV) today to say "hi" to Scout.

Scout is a recent graduate of a special training program called MiPaws, which is a foster and training program put on by the HSHV and the Women's Huron Valley Correctional Facility. The program is part of MI-Paws, which stands for Michigan Inmates Providing Assistance Work & Service.

Each dog graduating from the program is tolerant of grooming (including trimming nails, checking teeth and ears, brushing, etc.), is able to walk nicely on leash, learn the commands "sit," "down," "stay," "come," "leave it," "up" and "off." They will also be house-trained.
