4 Ways to Give Your Week a Boost in Plymouth and Canton

Here are four events to help fuel your week in Plymouth and Canton.

If you need a boost as we head into October, the Plymouth-Canton Patch calendar is filled with interesting and helpful events.

Here are just a few to brighten your week:

1. Beginners Adult Ballroom Class

Drop in at Metro Dance Company for Beginning Adult Ballroom class on Tuesdays from 8 to 9 p.m. Learn the basics of cha cha, waltz, swing, tango and more. No partners necessary.

2. "Hansel and Gretel" at the Village at Cherry Hill

Visit forest with Hansel and Gretel in this simply sweet version of the well-known Grimm's fairy tale. Do not be afraid; in this new rendition, Hansel and Gretel are in the company of guardian angels as they go deep into the woods looking for berries. The family friendly show runs Thursday through Sunday

3. Shock-tober Film Series at The Penn

Shock-tober continues this week with The Phantom of the Opera (1943). Violinist Claudin hopelessly loves soprano Christine Dubois and secretly aids her career. But Claudin loses both his touch and his job, murders a rascally music publisher in a fit of madness, and has his face etched with acid. Soon, mysterious crimes plague the Paris Opera House, blamed on a legendary "phantom" whom none can find in the mazes and catacombs. Christine's lovers have plans to ferret him out.

4. First Responders Memorial Dedication

The official dedication ceremony for the Wayne County First Responders Memorial built in Hines Park, at the corner of Hines Drive and Haggerty Road in Plymouth Township will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. Attendees will include Wayne County Commissioners, mayors, police, fire, EMS personnel and family members of those who lost their lives in the line of duty.
