'A Christmas Carol' Auditions, Veterans Summit and More This Week

Here are five pieces of information to help fuel your week in Plymouth and Canton.

It's Monday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in Plymouth and Canton to help make your week a little brighter, easier and more fun. For a full list of things to do this week, look at the Patch calendar of events.

1. Theater auditions

Auditions for "A Christmas Carol" will be held on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Forever After Production Center at 8347 Ronda Dr. in Canton. Be a part of a production that changes hearts for the better with a big dose of Christmas Spirit ..."A Christmas Carol"  To be performed at the Power Center in Ann Arbor this December.  Click here for more information.
    2. Local voice of the weekNow that the first week of school is over and the new year is underway, Huntington Learning Center posted several great tips for keeping your child on track when it comes to homework.

    For veterans

    Michigan veterans of all ages are invited to attend the Canton Community Foundation's 4th Annual Veterans' Summit, Thursday, September 12th at Laurel Manor in Livonia. Here, you'll find out about the VA benefits to which you may be entitled, as well as having veteran service officers available to meet with you one-on-one. At the Plymouth District LibraryOn Tuesday at 10 a.m., Bettie Hughes of The Senior Alliance, Area Agency on Aging 1-C will present information and answer questions about Medicare eligibility, coverage, and enrollment under each part of Medicare, as well as the Affordable Care Act and tips on preventing Medicare fraud. Sign-up is requested online or by phone at 734.453.0750, ext. 4.

    5. Save the Date

    Don't miss the chance to participate in this Tony Award winning musical that has danced  its way into the hearts of audiences for decades! Shows are Sept. 13-14 at 8 p.m., Sept. 15 at 2 p.m., Sept. 20-21 at 8 p.m. and Sept. 22 at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $18 for adults, $16 for students or seniors and $15 for groups.
