Detroit Water and Sewer Rates Town Hall and More This Week

Here are five pieces of information to help fuel your week in Plymouth and Canton.

It's Monday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in Plymouth and Canton to help make your week a little brighter, easier and more fun. For a full list of things to do this week, look at the Patch calendar of events.

1. At the Canton Public Library

The Canton Public Library is partnering with Michigan’s organ and tissue donation program, Gift of Life, to host a Michigan Libraries for Life registration. In doing so, CPL hopes to educate, inspire, and empower our patrons to join Michigan’s organ and tissue donor registry and save lives. CPL will hold a registration to join Michigan’s organ and tissue donor list on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
    2. Local voice of the weekMorris Hospital for Veterinary Services writes about the difficult choice of putting pets to sleep using euthanasia.

    For your entertainment

    "Murder by Poe" is a Barefoot Production directed by Craig Hane and adapted from the stories of Edgar Allan Poe.  Tickets are $15 and it only runs for 2 weekends -October 11, 12, 18, 19 at 8 PM and 2:00 matinees are on Sunday, Oct 13 &20. There is an Afterglow Party following the performance on Oct. 12th and tickets are $20 which includes admission for that evening.

    4. For the tax payer

    Join State Rep. Kurt Heise (R-Plymouth) and Livonia Council President Laura Toy for a Town Hall on your Water and Sewer Rates and the future of the Detroit Water & Sewer Department (DWSD).The event will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Livonia Civic Center Library.

    5. Save the Date

    The Third Annual Pumpkin Palooza will be held Oct. 20 in downtown Plymouth from 12-3 p.m. This Halloween activity event for kids will feature games, candy, contests, candy, activities, candy, entertainment, candy, a haunted alley and much more. There will be age-based costume contests and even a pet costume contest.
