Free Golf for School Supplies, Swedish Crayfish Party and More This Week

Here are five pieces of information to help fuel your week in Plymouth and Canton.

It's Monday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in Plymouth and Canton to help make your week a little brighter, easier and more fun. For a full list of things to do this week, look at the Patch calendar of events.

1. For a good cause

The Inn at St. John's, Plymouth is offering a free round of golf for patrons when they donate a new backpack with at least four school supply items inside between Aug. 12-15. Patrons will receive a voucher for free golf to be used at a later date. The supplies will go to support collection efforts of the Plymouth Community United Way. Backpacks with supplies can be brought to the St. John’s Pro Shop at tee-time check in.

    At the Canton Public LibraryCanton Public Library will host a home buying workshop on Tuesday, Aug. 13 at 7 p.m. The workshop focuses on home buying process, credit reporting and repair, local real estate trends and mortgage programs.     4. For the foodie Gather your friends to feast on crayfish during one of the most loved and celebrated Swedish festivals. Enjoy this all-you-can-eat buffet at IKEA! IKEA FAMILY Member price: $9.99 for adults; Children 12 & under $2.49. Non-Member

    5. Save the DateThe B.L.O.C.K. (Building Leaders out of Canton’s Kids) Youth and Teen Center is hosting a public open house on Thursday, Aug. 22 at its new location in the Canton Administration Building—home to Canton's municipal offices, and parallel to the Canton Public Library. From 6 to 8 p.m., guests will be welcome to chat with B.L.O.C.K. staff, register for fall programming, and tour this third-floor space complete with cafeteria, pool table, lounge, and quiet study room. Light refreshments will be served.
