Teen Center Opens, Mom 2 Mom Sale and More This Week

Here are five pieces of information to help fuel your week in Plymouth and Canton.

It's Monday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in Plymouth and Canton to help make your week a little brighter, easier and more fun. For a full list of things to do this week, look at the Patch calendar of events.

1. For the kids

The B.L.O.C.K. (Building Leaders out of Canton’s Kids) Youth and Teen Center is hosting a public open house on Thursday at its new location in the Canton Administration Building from 6-8 p.m.

    2. Local voice of the weekTony Lollio writes about an interesting legal battle between a Michigan pig farmer and the Department of Natural Resources.

    At the Plymouth District LibraryThe Plymouth District Library will hold a Lego open house on Tuesday. Stop in anytime between 2-6 p.m. to build with Legos. For children ages 5 to 12 and their families, no registration required.

    4. For a good causeGo back in time to attend the Roaring 20's themed second annual Michigan beer, wine, and spirits charity dinner. This special VIP event will pair 5 amazing courses with your choice of wine (from Black Star Farms Winery), beer (from Kuhnhenn Brewing Co.) or a cocktail (with spirits fromValentine Distilling Co.). The event will be held at the Inn at St. John's on Thursday, Aug. 22.

    5. Save the DateThe Connection Church in Canton will host a Mom 2 Mom Sale on Saturday beginning at 8:30 a.m. There will be more than 100 tables with gently used children's clothes, shoes, toys, strollers, infant care equipment, maternity clothes and other items. Admission is $2 before 9:30 a.m. and $1 after.
