The Fate of Central Middle School Meeting, Elections and More This Week

Here are four events to help fuel your week in Plymouth and Canton.

If you need a boost as we head into November, the Plymouth-Canton Patch calendar is filled with interesting and helpful events. 

Here are just a few to brighten your week: 

1. Disposition of Central Middle School

Central Middle School is Closing in 2015. Hear about the options being considered to dispose of the property during a community forum on Monday at 7 p.m. at The Penn Theatre. Learn about the PARC proposal to repurpose the site into an Arts and Recreation Complex. Get informed about this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the most significant development in Plymouth in decades.

2. Election Day

The City of Plymouth has four open city commission seats with four candidates running. Candidates include: Diane Bogenrieder, Daniel Dalton, Dan Dwyer and Oliver Wolcott. To view the City General Election public ballot, click here. The City of Plymouth currently has four precincts. All precincts vote at the Plymouth Community Cultural Center located at: 525 Farmer, Plymouth.

3. JFK 50 Years Ago...

On the 50th anniversary of the JFK assassination, Guest Speaker Gerald K. Dodson takes a detailed look at the security in place on November 22, 1963, in Dallas, Texas, and identifies suspects within the initial two-hour window of evidence. Dodson is a former U.S. Department of Defense DCAA Senior Auditor Senior Financial Advisor and Senior Security officer, now retired. The program will be at the Plymouth District Library on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Registration is requested by phone at 734.453.0750, ext. 4.

4. Medicare Enrollment Counseling

Learn about the updated information on Medicare Part D. Counselors will be on hand to assist in your enrollment plan at the Canton Senior Center from 12-5 p.m. on Wednesday.
