Try Hockey for Free, Canton Cinema Fundraiser and More This Week

Here are five pieces of information to help fuel your week in Plymouth and Canton.

It's Monday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in Plymouth and Canton to help make your week a little brighter, easier and more fun. For a full list of things to do this week, look at the Patch calendar of events.

1. For the kids

If your son or daughter has never played hockey, Compuware Arena is offering a Try Hockey for Free program on Wednesday from 6-7 p.m. Anyone interested must pre-register at www.maha.org. All Equipment is provided, must be new to hockey, Plymouth Whalers hockey players will be in attendance and a Red Wing jersey will be raffled.
    2. Local voice of the weekKen Garner posts a great video about local Plymouth and Canton car owners in both cruises.

    For a good cause

    Canton Cinema will host its third Spotlight Players fundraiser on Wednesday from 5-9 p.m. Canton Cinema will donate 50 percent of concession sales to the Spotlight Players for "Hairspray!" when customers supply the pictured flyer. Hairspray cast and crew members will be in the lobby to hand out flyers that will be counted as 25 percent.


    4. At the Plymouth District LibrarySeniors can share and preserve their life stories with the guidance of Plymouth author, Jane Saylor on Tuesday from 1:30-3 p.m. No previous writing experience is necessary!

    5. Save the Date

    TLC Productions presents an anthology of rock-and-roll music featured in shows on stage and screen. The songs, played by a live rock band, will be presented in 
    chronological order as they were introduced, noting the change in styles. The music will get the feet tapping and pull the audience out of their chairs.
