Veterans, Tree Lighting and More This Week

Here are four events to help fuel your week in Plymouth and Canton.

If you need a boost as we head into November, the Plymouth-Canton Patch calendar is filled with interesting and helpful events. 

Here are just a few to brighten your week: 

1. Veterans Day

Veterans Day is Monday, while Canton and Plymouth Township offices will be closed, the City of Plymouth remains open. Find out more about what is open and closed here. There will be a short ceremony at 11 a.m. at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Plymouth. In addition, Canton will pay tribute to local military men and women in a "Salute to Service" ceremony which will be held on at the Village Theater at Cherry Hill at 6 p.m.

2. Little Stitches of Hope

Help the Canton Senior Center cut and sew dresses for the children of Central Africa on Monday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. There will be supplies on hand and directions available. For information call 734-394-5485.

3. 'Plymouth's Air Rifle Industry' with Liz Kerstens

The November meeting of the Friends of the Plymouth Historical Museum features Plymouth Historical Museum Executive Director Liz Kerstens, introducing her new book, "Plymouth's Air Rifle Industry."

4. Tree Lighting, Red Kettle Kick Off 

The Plymouth Downtown Development Authority (DDA) will hold its third annual Main Street Boulevard Tree Lighting/Salvation Army Red Kettle Kick Off in Kellogg Park Friday beginning at 6:30 p.m. The Salvation Army gives out gifts to the first 100 families and the DDA has a drawing of gift certificates for those who bring food.
