Wayne County Residents: Discard Household Hazardous Waste in October

Accepted waste includes electronics. Find out what else will and won't be accepted.

If you missed the last household hazardous waste event, you'll want to take advantage of this one. 

All Wayne County residents can dispose of their hazardous waste — including electronics — Saturday, Oct. 12 between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. in Taylor. Go to the Southland Shopping Center, 23000 Eureka Road, and enter from Pardee Road.

Acceptable materials include: 

  • paint, stain 
  • fertilizer
  • oil
  • antifreeze
  • cleaners
  • pesticides
  • nail polish
  • batteries
  • cell phones
  • fax machines
  • printers
Items that won't be accepted include commercial waste, industrial waste, radioactive material, explosives, household trash, large appliances, yard waste and concrete.
