Thanks for sharing your experience Bryan! I know alot of these guys because they frequent at myRead More families business and we weren't able to attend a fry because we had to work. This made it feel like we were there!

Mr. Doroshewitz, I have complete empathy for you. One time in Jr. High School, I wasn't invited to aRead More sleepover that all the "cool people" were attending. You, myself, and the remainder of Township taxpayers have grown up and developed our moral compass. Let's face it, the two women voting on behalf of the residents are mannequins. I don't say that to demean women in any manner. I very much admire any woman's opinion and value their intellect. However, if these two elected official women each had another brain, it would be lonely. They are puppets. That leaves you, Mr. Curmi, and hopefully, Mr. Kelly to question every single move of the treasurer and supervisor, who react like pre-pubescent children when they don't get their way. Backroom secretive "playground" meetings? You betcha. Now I could rehash many "moving the township forward" decisions of the recent past (see land procurement, Plymouth Scholars, Hilltop, etc), but the only way to stop this madness is with state and/or federal intervention brought about by the actions of more than a handful of township citizens. The adolescent bravado of the treasurer and supervisor are willing to bet that apathy reigns in their kingdom. Let's prove them wrong!!
Bob Doroshewitz April 23, 2014 at 07:58 am
Were decisions made in violation of the Open Meetings Act or were they rubber stamped withoutRead More thought, discussion, collaboration, compromise? I sure hope it was the former rather than the latter. At least we can sleep knowing there was SOME deliberation by SOMEONE at SOMETIME, despite the fact the public never got a chance to hear about or weigh in on how their money is spent.
Duane Zantop April 23, 2014 at 10:02 am
It is so obvious to the public that there are Round Robbins discussions occur between the bully teamRead More members and all decisions are made before the Public Township meetings. At the last meeting Richard Reaume and the bully team members shut down discussions from opposing Trustee's and the loud cry's public and continued with their predetermined agenda to approve moving ahead with there amphitheater for one man puppet shows.

Break in someones house, get shot, that simple. Now to go up and shoot the boy directly in the faceRead More with him already down??? That raises a question. Then go wait for a full day to call and notify the police, now that raises a question.?? What the hell is the bottom line problem with this man that he would OVERKILL, and Keep the bodies for a full day without calling the police.?

wow. almost all of these comments are so obviously written by woman haters, the kind of men andRead More women that just cannot stand to see a woman in a position of authority. i have just one question for all of you who think you have all the stats on Ms. Clinton, can any of you name the politician that was held responsible for the thousands of lives lost from Ground Zero? You want to talk about fools in government? Remember, this was not the first attack on the World Trade Center? Who let it happen? shame on all of you and your so called facts. your behavior is apparent. feeling sorry for all the women, young and old, who are part of your families. i bet you don't even let them vote or drive cars

What kind of a stupid, malicious idiot would pull that sort of a prank? I agree that the kid whoRead More made the phone call to the SWAT team about his opposing video games player was a sore loser, which is why he did that, but he should be criminally prosecuted, made to pay the bill, and perhaps do some community service in order to pay off that big bill. Hopefully, that kid will learn a lesson if he is prosecuted for his prank, which he should be.

A convicted killer went on an hour-long tirade in which he blamed others for his fate during his sentencing Monday before Judge John Hulsing, who threatened to silence him with duct tape. (Screenshot: WZZM video)
Lee Jacobsen April 23, 2014 at 04:12 am
Duct tape keeps the world together. Both of those low lifes deserved duct tape, and a lot moreRead More misconfort. We always seem to forget the victims. Both killers should be hung from their necks with duct tape....they don't deserve life.
K. Scott April 23, 2014 at 08:44 am
Silence is golden. Duct tape is silver.
Mr Rogers April 23, 2014 at 11:40 am
I'd give the ofender a choice: duct tape or stun belt. (I think a normal person would just keepRead More quiet. But then again, we're not dealing with normal people here.)
Everyday Mathematics is just one of the programs that makes a heck of a lot of $ off of the millions of textbooks sold to schools that teach to the 'Core.' The Common Core isn't just restricting for teachers & students, it's lining people's pockets.
Susan Harris April 23, 2014 at 10:12 pm
Tamara, what social studies standards are you talking about? The Common Core only covers standardsRead More in literacy and math. There are no CC standards for science or history. Are you talking about state standards?
Tamara April 23, 2014 at 11:35 pm
Common Core has science and social studies standards - they were written after math and ELA - theyRead More have not been implemented yet. They are more controversial so math and ELA was put thru first to pave the way.
Tamara April 24, 2014 at 12:18 am
Many articles on CC not being validated, and reducing standards and achievement - not the other wayRead More around... http://campaign.r20.constantcontact.com/render?ca=7bf08782-fe34-49d9-ba23-f95e21905f04&c=d6f00600-ac37-11e3-8bb0-d4ae528ed502&ch=d7b7c2d0-ac37-11e3-8bc0-d4ae528ed502
The U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld Michigan's ban on affirmative action in college admissions.
Racer Boy April 23, 2014 at 02:56 pm
It's how a democracy works. The Supreme Court has clarified what rights the State's have. If U of MRead More wants more diversity, just lsimply ower their overall entrance standards. Maybe a 2.3 GPA would satisfy those that think personal achievement shouldn't matter. Then you would end up with a school like Wayne State University that showcases their diversity with a 4-year graduation rate of 9.7%....that's right....9.7%!!! That's what artificially achieved diversity gets you.
Love All April 23, 2014 at 03:10 pm
Liars figure,, and figures lie. You can make statistics say whatever you want them to say. The onlyRead More variable is which side is using the stats. It is well known that Universities like UM do not admit every single freshman that applies. Only a biased, myopic view of race would lead one to believe that not using affirmative action will now see every last white freshman that applies, accepted. Seriously people,,, you cannot legislate or vote in discrimination under the guise of "states rights". The ban on gay marriage in Michigan WILL be overturned.
cookiepro2 April 23, 2014 at 04:06 pm
Regardless of affirmative action, U of M will do what it needs to do to maintain its academicRead More ranking. It's not going to endanger its brand name, so to speak. Its funding depends on its reputation and its sizable materially successful alumni base. I have no beef with the recruited star athletes either, they are excellent at what they do, and bring in tremendous revenue and fans, think of it as a different kind of intelligence, no less to be respected. Graduate school where U of M excels, IMO, will never be accused of letting anyone in just because of race...there are the GRE, LSAT, MCAT , GMAT tests, very competitive; you've got to have the right stuff.

Netflix is hands down the best deal going, and it has been a bargain for YEARS. I guess theRead More nonsensical whiners who complain about a long-delayed, $2 a MONTH increase are worried it will cost them a (partial) SINGLE LATTE. Utterly ridiculous.

TO MICHAEL BRENNICK: Leftist, Democra... WHAT? You think Comcast is part of the so-calledRead More "liberal" media (which, by the way, doesn't even exist)? Are you freakin' KIDDIN' me? [shakes head in disbelief] Wow. The FOX NEWS CHANNEL should be held criminally liable for what it has done to your brain.

FOR THOSE WHO LIKE AMAZON PRIME OVER NETFLIX: Here's an interesting article from today (23 Apr 2014)Read More about how Amazon Prime just got HBO to stream at least some of its older content, plus "HBO GO," to Amazon's new Fire TV box, thereby making NetFlix upset because NetFlix (nor any other streaming service, including HULU) has never been able to get any HBO content; and so Amazon has scored a real coup! I don't believe this kid is competent enough to make those decisions. Those kids need to beRead More prosecuted to the fullest and if the does judge does not agree he needs to step down.

Sorry, Autistic boy, but there are a multitude of crimes here. These so called 'friends' abused youRead More terribly ~ called 'bullying', & that alone cannot be tolerated. Then, there is animal cruelty involved, another terrible crime, plus, harassment of all kinds, leudness, & who knows what else. These 'friends' need to be charged & made aware of the seriousness of their deeds, punished accordingly & helped through proper mental councelling.

It is probly the parents that want to drop the charges, not the boy. They shouldn't. I don'tRead More know why they would want to drop the charges.
