Canton restaurant hires chef to reinvent its menu, aesthetics.
When Deanna Brotherton placed a Craigslist advertisement for a new kitchen manager for 4 Friends Bar & Grill in Canton, she got more than she bargained for when chef Michael Jay walked in for an interview. Admittedly uninspired by the decor, Jay's interview turned into a two-hour meeting, according to a news release by the restaurant, where Jay suggested improvements to the restaurant from the ground up, including the menu consisting of fried and convenience foods. Rather than frozen and fried grub, the news release said, Jay suggested fresh and inspiring dishes to appeal to modern diners and promotes a philosophy that if it isn't available fresh, then it won't be on the menu.
