American Idol finalist to perform Feb. 13 at Salem High School.
Tickets are on sale now for a special concert featuring American Idol finalist Matt Giraud at Salem High School. The Season 8 American Idol participant will perform a fundraising concert at the Plymouth-Canton Educational Park 7:30 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Salem High School Logan Auditorium. The PCEP Choir also will join Giraud for several songs. Giraud visited the campus in 2012 to share his musical story and work with the campus' music students. The tickets, which are general admission, cost $22 each. Half of the proceeds from ticket sales will support the music program at Plymouth-Canton Educational Park. The show is sponsored by Plymouth-Canton Community Schools and UNITE Concerts. Tickets can be bought here.

For Season 8 American Idol finalist Matt Giraud, his Feb. 13, 2013, concert at the Salem High School auditorium will finally offer the artist a chance to come home. Giraud, a transplant to Kalamazoo who was raised in Ypsilanti, appeared Wednesday at Salem High School to work with the Plymouth-Canton Educational Park choirs and perform for and answer questions by students in choir, band and orchestra classes in three separate sessions throughout the morning. The singer and pianist will return to PCEP on Feb. 13, 2013, for a full concert with one of the Park's choir programs. "This is my first show close to home," Giraud said. Season 8 American Idol finalist Matt Giraud shared his musical journey Wednesday with Plymouth-Canton Educational Park students at Salem High School. Giraud, who grew up nearby in Ypsilanti, appeared in three sessions with the Park's choir, band and orchestra students. He performed both original compositions and covers of hits such as Michael Jackson's "Human Nature" and a medley of classic Disney songs and answered questions from the students. Giraud, who finished fifth place on American Idol behind such superstars as Adam Lambert and Kris Allen, will return the Salem High School auditorium on Feb. 13, 2013, with the PCEP choirs.
