Fundraiser Planned for Widowed Mother Battling Cancer
RealBarBQ hosts fundraiser for Plymouth-Canton parent Joanne Savage, who is battling cancer just one year after losing her husband to cancer.
The Plymouth-Canton community is embracing and supporting one of its own, Joanne Savage. A widow and mother of three sons, Colin, Jack and Nolan, Savage was diagnosed with a rare cancer called Peritonei Carcinoma. Pat Savage, husband of Joanne and father of the couple's three boys, succumbed to Esophageal Cancer in November 2011. The death of a spouse is a traumatic event, both emotionally and financially, but Joanne is staying extremely positive while she goes through continuous medical treatment knowing that she has the support of others. This includes the Salem High football team, for which her son Colin plays.
