Award-Winning PBS Children's Musician Mr. Steve to Perform in Canton

Mr. Steve of SteveSongs to perform Friday and Saturday at Village Theater in Canton.

The Canton Rotary will bring a big dose of holiday cheer to the Village Theater at Cherry Hill as part of its Candy Canes and Kiddie Rock programming efforts this holiday season. In addition to a special-invitation-only concert offered to Headstart and Starfish families on the morning of Dec. 8, the Rotary will offer two public concert opportunities on both Friday, Dec. 7 and Saturday, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. featuring "Mr. Steve" of SteveSongs, a rising star on the national kids’ music scene. This musical adventure aims to delight families with participatory songs, clever lyrics, and entertaining melodies that kids and adults can both enjoy. Canton Rotary Club Promotes Emergency Shelter Effort

The Canton Rotarians support victims of natural disasters with ShelterBox.

Visitors to the Canton Farmers Market on Sunday were intrigued by the Canton Rotary Club's ShelterBox display. Sharon Baker and her fiance, Keith Rasztowski, with their dog, Reo, stopped to hear the Rotarians explain ShelterBox, an international disaster relief organization based in England that is dedicated to helping to those left homeless after natural disasters and other crises — one box at a time. A ShelterBox kit includes a temporary emergency shelter and lifesaving supplies. Bill Tesen, past president of Canton Rotary, and Derek Locke of the Dearborn Heights Rotary Club were manning the display Sunday at the Farmers Market at Preservation Park, 500 North Ridge Rd., hoping to raise the public's awareness of ShelterBox and encourage …

1. At Canton's Farmers Market today, visitors can inspect the Shelter Box display organized by the Rotary Club of Canton. Shelter Box is disaster-relief organization that offers help in the form of basic survival supplies and a tent that sleeps 10 people.
