Fiddler collective from Saline takes amphitheater stage at Canton's Heritage Park.
Crowds braved signs of rainy weather Thursday to watch the Saline Fiddlers, a collective of young Washtenaw County musicians, take the Heritage Park amphitheater stage. The performance Thursday kicked off the weekly Thursday Night Concerts concert series. The Saline Fiddlers kept the crowd entertained with its mix of bluegrass, country, folk and pop. Despite ominous clouds hanging overhead, the concert remained dry, save for the occasional sprinkle, and the crowds who parked their lawnchairs in front of the stage were undeterred. The free concerts take place at 7:30 p.m. each Thursday at the park and are open to the public. For more on the Thursday Night Concerts series, as well as additional concert series in Canton and Plymouth, check …

The rock and pop cover band, the Crutches, returns to Kellogg Park.
Plymouth's Music in the Air concert series continued Friday with a return appearance of the Michigan-based rock and pop cover band the Crutches. Music in the Air is a free outdoor concert series put on by Plymouth's Downtown Development Authority. The concerts take place each Friday in Kellogg Park. "It's nice that it's family oriented," said Melissa Barszczowski who recently moved to Plymouth from Livonia. This was her second time attending the series since moving into town. Cheri Hoelscher, a Northville resident, comes to the park every Friday with her husband and has been for years. "This park setting is great," Hoelscher said. "We love music, and then it's just the atmosphere: all the families and all the restaurants around here." …

Warm weather, pop-rock tunes please Plymouth's Music in the Air attendees.
Thousands of music fans flocked to Kellogg Park on Friday for the fourth week of downtown Plymouth's Music in the Air concert series. The Shawn Riley Band headlined, bringing an accessible pop-rock vibe to the concertgoers. Last Friday's concert, which would have featured the Sound Alternative, was canceled because of rain. The series didn't miss a beat this week, though, with warm weather setting the stage for a relaxing evening for local families. Children and adults crowded the stage to dance to the music, while vendors served up hamburgers and other treats for those in attendance. Nancy Hart of Plymouth Township attended with her boyfriend, Felix Shows of Detroit. Hart said she has lived in the area 18 years and tries to attend the …
