The following information was submitted by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra In honor of the Tigers' success against the New York Yankees, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) finished each of its three concerts last weekend with an orchestrated version of the vintage fight song, "Go Get 'Em Tigers." Scored in-house by DSO librarians, "Go Get 'Em Tigers" was the theme song of Detroit's 1968 championship team, and in 2006, after the Tigers beat the Yankees in the American League Division Series, it was played as players carried manager Jim Leyland off the field.
