The Detroit Symphony Orchestra will perform Friday, April 5, at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center in Dearborn, and Patch is giving you the chance to win free tickets. The DSO will perform Mozart’s “Jupiter” as part of its Neighborhood Concert Series. Bach’s Ricercare No. 2 and Britten’s Violin Concerto No. 1 also will be performed. DSO Plays 'Go Get 'Em Tigers!'

The orchestrated version of the song was scored in-house by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra's librarians.

The following information was submitted by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra In honor of the Tigers' success against the New York Yankees, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) finished each of its three concerts last weekend with an orchestrated version of the vintage fight song, "Go Get 'Em Tigers."  Scored in-house by DSO librarians, "Go Get 'Em Tigers" was the theme song of Detroit's 1968 championship team, and in 2006, after the Tigers beat the Yankees in the American League Division Series, it was played as players carried manager Jim Leyland off the field.  "Go Get 'Em Tigers" Lyrics: We're all behind our baseball team Go get 'em Tigers World Series bound and picking up steam Go get 'em Tigers There'll be joy in Tiger Town the whole …

What do you mean, Musicman495, that she does not know the melody? She is singing the lyrics as they were written. The Patch article does not have the accurate lyrics. I just listened to the original recording. The fifth line should be "There'll be joy in Tiger Town, we'll sing you songs." The next line should not have "to" before "where."
