Man hospitalized after Sunday fire at apartment in Canton.
A man smoking near his oxygen machine apparently caused a fire Sunday at a Canton apartment that sent the resident to the hospital, according to the Canton Observer. The man sustained non-life-threatening injuries after the fire at Lincolnshire Apartments, 44000 block of Trails Court in Canton, according to Canton public safety officials. Canton dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call at about 4:45 p.m. Sunday reporting an apartment fire with occupants possibly still inside the building, officials reported. Canton fire crews arrived to find heavy smoke and light fire from a two-story apartment building. Fire crews were able to determine all occupants were out of the building before entering to extinguish the blaze, officials indicated.

House on 46000 block of Spinning Wheel sustains heavy fire and smoke damage, but no injuries reported.
Canton Township firefighters responded early Wednesday to the 46000 block of Spinning Wheel after a 9-1-1 call reporting a house fire, according to a news release from the department. According to the report, fire crews arrived on the scene to find heavy smoke visible from a tri-level home. Crews entered the home and found heavy smoke and fire in the kitchen area, but were able to contain the blaze with two hose lines, the news release indicated. According to the news release, the home sustained fire damage in the kitchen area and smoke damage throughout the house.
