Menchie's Serves Healthy to Indulgent Frozen Yogurt in Canton

Menchie's Frozen Yogurt, on Canton Center Road near Hanford Road, is quickly becoming a favorite spot in Canton.

Menchie's Frozen Yogurt's mission statement is "We make you smile," and co-owner of Menchie's in Canton Joyce Barszcz said she makes sure every visitor does. Menchie's opened its Canton location, 6427 North Canton Center Road, in November. Barszcz said she and her husband and co-owner Mike, who have lived in Canton for 15 years, have gotten to know the regulars, whom she calls guests. "They're not just customers. They're friends," she said. "They're guests in our yogurt bar and we treat them like that." Megan Moncion, 17, student and member of the gymanstics team at Canton High School, visited Menchie's with five friends who heard about it in different ways - Twitter, Menchie's employees and classmates. Canton Plans for More Growth

The township expects to hire a company to conduct a market study for development areas in Canton.

Canton Township is looking to add new and keep old businesses in its borders.  Kristen Thomas, Canton's economic development and marketing analyst, presented ideas Tuesday to the township board for ways to improve Canton's economic growth, according to an article on HometownLife.com.  The township will choose a company to lead a new market study for the Ford Road corridor, specifically between Lilley and Lotz roads, the Cherry Hill Village area and Michigan Avenue. “There's still a lot that can be done along Ford Road, believe it or not,” Thomas told HometownLife.  The study is expected to cost less than $50,000, according to the article, and the township would like to partner with the Downtown Development Authority, which promotes Ford …
