Kellogg Park is Readers' Choice for Best Live Music Spot

Public park is host to more than 130 events annually, including weekly Music in the Air summer concert series.

Plymouth Patch and Canton Patch readers have voted Kellogg Park the best spot to go in the area for live music. Winners of Patch Readers' Choice for best live music spot in Plymouth or Canton, Kellogg Park, a public park situated in downtown Plymouth, is host to more than 130 free events each year, including the Plymouth Ice Festival, Art in the Park, Green Street Fair and weekly summer concerts on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, including the popular Music in the Air series. Tony Bruscato, director of the Plymouth Downtown Development Authority, said live music has been a big part of the downtown area for about 30 years, starting with smaller-scale performances on street corners. Vanessa's Flowers Wins Readers' Choice on Eve of 20th Anniversary

Plymouth flower shop wins Patch Readers' Choice poll, celebrates milestone year Saturday.

On the eve of a milestone for the business, Vanessa’s Flowers in Plymouth was voted by its customers and Patch readers as the top florist in Plymouth and Canton. “We’re celebrating our 20th anniversary tomorrow, so it’s very good timing,” said Victor West, who co-owns the shop with his wife, Jill. “We have a lot of very devoted customers,” he said. It was a photo finish for Vanessa’s Flowers, edging out Ribar Floral Company in Plymouth and Keller and Stein Florist in Canton with 41 percent of the vote and five positive reviews, food for 18 out of 20 possible points in our scoring system. Trading Post is Readers' Choice for Best Sporting Goods Store

A local fixture since 1964, the Trading Post has built up a loyal local customer base.

When Plymouth Patch asked readers what their favorite sporting goods store in town was, their answer came with little hesitation. “The Trading Post, of course,” Mary Bennett said on Plymouth Patch’s Facebook page. Sherada Collins agreed. “Is there a place other than the Trading Post?” she asked. The Trading Post dominated Plymouth Patch’s Readers’ Choice poll for best sporting goods store in Plymouth, taking 58 percent of the vote in our poll and beating out nine other local stores ranging from cycle shops to dancewear stores. Sun & Snow came in second place, earning 19 percent. Owner David Cook was happy to earn the honor. “It’s a nice thing to have happen to you,” he said. Canton Sports Co. is Readers' Choice for Best Sporting Goods Store

Canton store earns support of Patch readers.

Canton Patch readers have spoken, and Canton Sports Co. is the best sporting goods store in Canton. “Dave and the others at Canton Sports treat their customers like family," Roxanne Allphin said in a comment on Patch. "They remember you the next time you come in." Canton Sports Co. edged out Dunham's in Canton Patch’s Readers’ Choice poll for best sporting goods store in Plymouth, taking 42 percent of the vote in our poll and beating out seven other local stores ranging from soccer shops to dancewear stores. With spring here and summer just around the corner, it's time to get outdoors. Whether it's rec softball, bowling, running or lake sports, Canton has plenty of businesses that cater to the athletically inclined.
