Village Theater Exhibits Detroit Artist Sabrina Nelson

The exhibit is free and open to the public Monday through Friday.

Artwork by Detroit artist Sabrina Nelson is on display in the gallery at The Village Theater at Cherry Hill until Feb. 24.  Nelson's work is known for its complex form, use of mixed media and intricate layering. Nelson, from Detroit, taught at the Detroit Institute of Arts, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp and African American Art History at Oakland University.  Nelson's pieces are influenced by various forms of spirituality like the Yoruba religion, Eastern philosophy and African religious philosophies. "I create by any means necessary," Nelson told The Village Theater.  "I am a Detroit Artist and we hustle the hardest. I can't imagine being any place else to do my work.
