NORAD Tracks Santa Claus En Route to Michigan

Thanks to NORAD, children young and old can keep track of Santa Claus as he journeys around the world toward Michigan

For 364 days out of the year, the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) spends its time tracking airplanes, missiles, space ships—anything flying near the United States and Canada.  But on Christmas Eve, a team of volunteers spends the night tracking a very special pilot: Santa Claus.  "We are the only organization that has the technology, the qualifications and the people to do it," NORAD said on its website. "NORAD tracks Santa, but only Santa knows his route, which means we cannot predict where and when he will arrive at your house."  Santa usually starts at the International Date Line in the Pacific Ocean and travels west, NORAD noticed, meaning he moves from the South Pacific to New Zealand, Australia, Asia, Africa and …

Plymouth Welcomes Santa Claus to Kellogg Park

Santa Claus visits downtown Plymouth as city illuminates Christmas tree.

Escorted by local firefighters, Santa Claus made his arrival Friday to downtown Plymouth amidst a celebration of lights and music. The City of Plymouth illuminated its holiday tree in Kellogg Park on Friday as local choirs and children's activities created a festive atmosphere to welcome Kris Kringle to town. If you were at the event, be sure to submit your photos here. If you missed Santa Claus on Friday, fear not. You can still catch Santa at his Kellogg Park house throughout the holiday season. Video: A Special Christmas Eve Message From Santa

Enjoy our video message from Santa and find out answers to some of the most popular questions kids have for the man in red.

White Lake Patch scored an exclusive interview with Santa at his family's cabin in White Lake. Taking a small break before gearing up for tonight's deliveries, Santa sat down with Local Editor Brooke Meier to answer some of the most asked questions by kids. White Lake Patch: What do you do if there is a fire in the fireplace? Santa: That's pretty easy. I've been given a magic key. There are a lot of boys and girls who don't have a fireplace. This magic key allows me to go in the front door of those home on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day only. White Lake Patch: Have you even been bitten by a dog? Santa: No, because Christmas Magic takes over. When I get there the dogs are very friendly. As a matter of fact, most dogs help me. They come …

Just discovered this site through an 8 year old's eyes on Christmas Eve. It was so cool. While we watched Santa's progress, we clicked on all the green video cameras and had a history and geography lesson from those as well. Great website!!   more ›
