Museum's Christmas Exhibit Celebrates Charles Dickens
Plymouth Historical Museum's Dickens Christmas exhibit highlights snowy Victorian streetscapes, holiday cheer.
For Scrooges having a Dickens of a time getting into the holiday spirit, the Plymouth Historical Museum's latest exhibit might be the perfect cure for the Bah, Humbugs. The museum opens A Dickens Christmas, an exhibit honoring Charles Dickens's 200th birthday, starting at 1 p.m. today. The exhibit will run 1-4 p.m. each Wednesday, Friday and Saturday through Jan. 13, Museum Executive Director Elizabeth Kerstens said. Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for children ages 6-17. The museum will offer free admission, however, from 6:30-9 p.m. Friday when the City of Plymouth lights its holiday tree and welcomes Santa Claus' arrival.
