Plymouth Whalers' Teddy Bear Toss, Salute to Heroes Night Coming Saturday

Plymouth hosts Kitchener on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. at Compuware Arena.

When the Plymouth Whalers host the Kitchener Rangers on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. at Compuware Arena, they’ll be aiming to accomplish a much bigger goal than gaining a victory against their Western Conference rival. In teaming up with local celebrity Chuck Gaidica, Family Heating, Cooling & Electrical, the Fallen & Wounded Soldiers Fund and Plymouth Community United Way, the Whalers are looking to make Saturday’s 10th Annual Salute to Heroes Night and Teddy Bear Toss a dynamic, uplifting night to remember. The Whalers’ Salute to Heroes Night was created 10 years ago to recognize and celebrate our local Armed Forces for their service to our country. Teddy Bears to Hit the Ice to Salute Nation's Heroes

Plymouth Community United Way, Plymouth Whalers team up for charitible Teddy Bear Toss.

The Plymouth Community United Way and the Plymouth Whalers are hoping it will rain a torrent of teddy bears after the OHL hockey team scores its first goal against the Kitchener Rangers on Dec. 1, at Compuware Arena, 14900 Beck Road, Plymouth. This year, the 13th annual Teddy Bear Toss will not only provide toys to brighten the holidays of children in need, but also will pay tribute to the five branches of the United States Armed Forces with a Salute to Our Heroes. After the second intermission, local representatives, on behalf of the military branches, will receive certificates of thanks. Active and veteran soldiers with military ID will be admitted to the game free of charge. Discounted $10 tickets are available for their family members…
