No stranger to the Canton Color tour, this powerhouse trio once again brings their blend of funk, jazz and rock to the stage. Add in a touch of Codish’s personal humor, and the show promises a treat of eclectic sounds you don’t want to miss. The group is known for attracting local professional musicians to their performances, so come out to hear their unique harmonious show!

Lin Rountree The Canton Color Tour Jazz Series welcomes back Jazz Trumpeter Lin Rountree! Rountree’s charm, wit and energy help make this accomplished performer a great entertainer on the stage. In 2011, he helped write and produce “Soul-Tree: The Soul Jazz- Tree Experience”, which includes twelve R&B tracks with vocal collaborations and popular instrumental covers. Lin Rountree plays music that will move your soul!

"I'm very happy to once again be included amongst the amazing artists performing for the Canton Color Tour Jazz series this summer," says Rountree."Last year when I performed, I was greeted with so much enthusiasm and positive energy from the people of Canton! It warmed my heart when I was asked to return this year. From its inception, this series has provided the good folks of Canton the music they have come to love, right in their backyard!"

Phil Denny Appearing for the first time at the jazz series is Tenor Saxophonist Phil Denny. Denny recently started his full-time journey as a solo artist. After some time with producer and keyboardist Nate Harasim, Denny debuted “Crossover” in 2012. He teams up on compilations with Guitarist Nils, Vocalist Anna Stevenson, and Bassist Terrance Palmer. Denny’s music has attracted a diverse fan base all over the world as he brings his unique style and personality to the stage.

Demetrius “Krayon” Nabors Returns to the stage in Canton, bringing his artistic expression on the keyboard. An accomplished pianist, arranger and composer, Nabors was born in Detroit. He is a Detroit Music Award Winner in the category of Outstanding Gospel Christian Music. Nabors has also worked with many notable local artists and debuted his first album, “A Journey Within Part 1” on the Smooth Jazz Billboard in 2012. Come and enjoy the mix of gospel, jazz and blues in DKN’s incredible musical arrangements!

Tim Bowman Canton is happy to announce Tim Bowman to the headliners at the Canton Color Tour Jazz Series. Growing up in Detroit, his work as a jazz guitarist has earned him a long-standing solo career with 16 years of successful albums. He performs with a creative sound that infuses gospel, blues, R& B and jazz. Bowman’s latest release “The Collection” has found enormous success on the Smooth Jazz Billboard Charts. Known for playing the most prestigious jazz events around the world, we are ecstatic to host Tim on our Canton stage.

Randy Scott Randy really works the crowd at the Canton Color Tour Jazz Series, with his popular jazz sounds on his Alto Sax! Also an accomplished producer and composer, Randy’s 5th album “90 Degrees at Midnight” is still on the charts and is arguably his best. He has been awarded two Gold records, two Platinum records and one Multi-Platinum record for his work on a Gospel Wow compilation CD and recordings with Grammy award winners, Kirk Franklin and Fred Hammond. Scott recently signed a new record deal with Trippin N Rhythm Records.

"Jazz is a gift that America has given the world. I am extremely grateful to Canton Township for giving me and other jazz musicians the opportunity to share that gift through the Canton Color Tour Jazz Series. This 8 week jazz festival has grown in popularity over the years, and benefits the entire community with a fun night out, as well as promoting patronage to surrounding businesses. As a returning artist, I truly love the audience reception and enthusiasm, and I look forward to performing again this summer."

Charles & Gwen Scales The Canton Color Tour Jazz Series welcomes this creative duo to the stage for their first appearance! Charles & Gwen have many years of experience in performing live at various Detroit venues. Gwen sings and writes, while Charles writes, plays keyboards, and is a musical arranger and producer. They have toured worldwide, with musical influences from Ella Fitzgerald, Herbie Hancock, and Art Tatum. The dynamic duo performs with great energy.

Thornetta Davis Canton welcomes back Detroit’s favorite multi-talented vocalist. She has a strong story-telling delivery that audiences love. Starting in 1987 as a backup singer for “Lamont Zodiac and the Love Signs”, she went solo in 1996 recording “Sunday Morning Music”. The song “Cry” was later featured on the HBO cable series “The Sopranos”. Thornetta has been inducted into the Detroit Music Hall of Fame with over 20 music awards in the past 15 years.
