Canton Woman Spotted Illegally Dumping Her Trash

Police said a witness spotted the woman dumping three bags of trash near North Ridge Road and Gyde Road.

A 63-year-old Canton woman was ticketed after illegally dumping her trash near North Ridge Road and Gyde Road on July 21, according to a police report.

A witness called police dispatch and told them someone was dumping bags of garbage into the ditch on the east side of the road. The woman was able to provide the car make, model and license plate, the report said.

Police went to the area and confirmed there were three trash bags left there and spoke to the witness who told them she was traveling southbound on Ridge Road when she saw a woman walking back to her car, close the trunk, then continue southbound, the report said.

Police made contact with the driver of the car at her home on Northampton Court. She admitted to police that she was out within the last hour and stopped to dump her yard waste because the garbage men wouldn't pick it up last week, the report said.

Police said the woman was apologetic and immediately went with her son to pick up the garbage, the report said.
