Four Suspects Charged in Canton Robbery

Police said the victims were threatened they would be shot unless they handed over items like wallet, cell phone and cash.

Four suspects were arraigned on two counts of armed robbery stemming from a police investigation of an incident that happened at the Crossings Apartments in Canton on Nov. 3, according to a press release.

Joseph Charles Holland, 18, of Canton; Clary Dejuan Scott, Jr., 17, of Detroit; Alexander James Shippey, 22, of Livonia and Muhedin Danny Turkovic, 17, of Canton could face up to life in prison if convicted.

The charges came after the two victims went to visit Holland around 8:30 p.m. Nov 3. with the understanding that they were going to buy drugs, Canton Police Det. Erik Kaledas said.

The victims told police that after entering the apartment, they were 'jumped' by the four suspects. Threats were made that they would be shot unless they handed over items like wallet, cell phone and cash, police said.

Police said the victims were also assaulted, with one of them suffering heavy bruising on the left side of the face. 

Magistrate Frank Wren set each of the defendants bond at $10,000. A preliminary exam is scheduled for Nov. 15.
