Canton Woman Uses Found Receipt to Steal from Walmart, Police Say

Canton Township police arrested a Canton woman June 29 on charges of stealing from Walmart, according to a police report.

The woman, who had her two children with her, was found with $39.75 worth of unpaid merchandise, the report said. 

The woman presented a receipt she found in the parking lot to get away with taking a sheet set and sleeping pills that she said she left behind, according to the report. The woman eventually admitted to what she did when confronted by loss prevention employees, the report said.

Police arrested her and she has a hearing July 16.
